A short police pursuit of a purloined automotive in San Bernardino Tues morning led to a fatal crash that killed associate innocent driver WHO was headed home from operating associate long shift.

The pursuit began regarding 4:42 a.m. once officers tried to stop a purloined automotive they'd noticed being driven close to the intersection of West Baseline Road and North Sierra approach, San Bernardino department of local government Lt. wealthy Lawhead aforementioned.
The automotive accelerated and eventually went onto the 215 pike with officers in pursuit, Lawhead aforementioned.
Only regarding 5 minutes once the chase began, the automotive exited the pike on Fifth Street and smitten a vehicle that was headed eastbound, Lawhead aforementioned.
The suspect's automotive hit the driver's door and nearly split the vehicle in 0.5.
An "innocent driver," a person in his 30s, was killed within the crash, consistent with Lawhead.
"It's the worst state of affairs that plays out: someone innocent gets hurt," Lawhead aforementioned. "We got to strike a balance. ... we wish to stop the criminal ... however we do not need innocent lives lost within the method."
A close friend told KTLA the victim was Cornelius "Corn" Holly of Victorville, oral communication the person had simply gotten off his site shift and was headed home once the crash occurred.
Two men WHO were within the purloined automotive were taken into custody following the crash.
The driver was known by Lawhead as 18-year-old Damian Garcia of San Bernardino. The traveler was David Ricardo Cerda, 21, additionally of San Bernardino.
